Exporting

Rendering happens on your machine, uses the GPU when one is available, and never consumes AI tokens. There is no export limit on any plan.

Export a video

  1. Click Export in the editor. The Export page opens with a summary of resolution, frame rate, duration, format, and audio.
  2. Check the settings below. They are remembered for next time.
  3. Click Export. Progress shows as “Exporting… 42%” with a Cancelbutton. When it finishes you see “Exported <filename>” and can Export again.

Tip: An empty timeline cannot be exported: “The project is empty — add something to the timeline first.” Leaving the Export page cancels an export that is still running.

SettingOptionsNotes
File nameFree textDefaults to the project name. Characters that are not allowed in file names are replaced with a dash.
FormatMP4 (H.264) · WebM (VP9)MP4 for compatibility, WebM for smaller files. Audio is AAC in MP4 and Opus in WebM.
QualityLow · Medium · High · Very highHigh is the default and the recommended setting. Low is the smallest file, Very high the largest.
ResolutionOriginal · 2160 · 1440 · 1080 · 720 · 480The number is the short side; the aspect ratio is kept. Presets larger than the project are hidden, so nothing is ever upscaled.
Frame rateProject · 24 · 25 · 30 · 60Project uses the project's own frame rate.
AudioInclude audio in exportOff produces a silent file. When on, transition sound effects are mixed in automatically.

Where the file goes

The finished file is delivered like a browser download, into the downloads folder your system uses for Agent28, named after the project with .mp4 or .webm. There is no save dialog.

From an AI app

  • Ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Claude Code: “Export my Agent28 project as a 1080p video.” The AI can pick MP4 or WebM and any of the four quality levels.
  • Those exports are written to ~/Movies/Agent28 unless the AI is told another folder.
  • The export runs as a job; the AI reports when it is finished. Long projects take a few minutes.

See Connect Claude Code for the /agent28-export skill.
