Connect Claude

The Claude desktop app gets Agent28's editing tools. Unlike ChatGPT and Claude Code, it does not receive the skill guides, so be a little more explicit about what you want on the first request.

Before you start

  • Claude desktop is installed on the same computer as Agent28.
  • Settings → AI apps in Agent28 shows Claude as Linked. If not, see Enable AI apps.

Steps

  1. Keep Agent28 open, with your project open.
  2. Quit and reopen Claude once after Agent28 links it. Claude reads its connector list only when it launches.
  3. Start a new chat. Agent28 is listed under the tools button in the chat box. Ask for an edit.

Tip: Claude may ask you to allow the Agent28 tool the first time it calls it. Allow it for the chat, or always.

If Agent28 is missing from Claude

  • Quit Claude fully from its menu, not just the window, and reopen it.
  • If it is listed but greyed out, Agent28 is not running or Allow AI apps to edit is off.
  • If Agent28 shows Needs attention for Claude, it could not write claude_desktop_config.json. Close Claude, click Check again, then reopen Claude.
