Connect ChatGPT

Agent28 links to the ChatGPT desktop app and to Codex through the same connector. Once linked, you edit by describing the change in a ChatGPT chat.

Before you start

ChatGPT desktop is installed on the same computer as Agent28.
In Agent28, Settings → AI apps shows ChatGPT as Linked. If not, see Enable AI apps.
Your ChatGPT plan supports apps and connectors.

Steps

Keep Agent28 open, with the project you want to edit open.
Open ChatGPT and start a new chat.
Ask for an edit. ChatGPT discovers Agent28's tools and skills at the start of the chat and uses them.

Cut the ums and silences out of my Agent28 project.

Tip: ChatGPT looks for Agent28 when a chat starts. If it says it has no Agent28 tools, start a new chat rather than continuing the old one.

What to ask

Anything the in-app agent can do: import media, cut by transcript, add or restyle captions, place motion graphics, search your footage or the licensed clip libraries, fine-tune zooms and effects, build a story edit, and export. The full list is under What AI can do. Every change appears on the Agent28 timeline as it happens and can be reverted from Agent28's own chat panel.

If ChatGPT can't see Agent28

Confirm Agent28 is running and Allow AI apps to edit is on.
In Agent28, click Check again under Your AI apps, then start a new ChatGPT chat.
If the row shows Needs attention, close ChatGPT, click Check again, and reopen it. Agent28 could not write ~/.codex/config.toml while it was in use.
A tool call that fails with “Agent28 isn't running” means the app was closed mid-chat. Reopen it and ask again.
