Enable AI apps
AI apps are the ChatGPT, Claude, and Claude Code apps on your computer. When linked, they can open your Agent28 project and edit it by chat, using the subscription you already pay those companies. This works on every Agent28 plan, including Free.
The switch
- Open Settings → AI apps.
- Make sure Allow AI apps to edit is on. It is on by default; the line under it reads “On — Agent28 is ready whenever an AI app asks.”
- Under Your AI apps, each installed app shows a status. If you installed an app after Agent28 last looked, click Check again.
Agent28 must be running for an AI app to reach it. Closing Agent28 does not unlink anything; the apps simply cannot see the project until you open it again.
What the status labels mean

What Agent28 writes, and where
Nothing is uploaded and nothing is installed from the network. Agent28 adds one connector entry to each app's own configuration, pointing at a small bridge that ships inside the Agent28 app bundle:

The seven skills are short workflow guides the AI reads before acting: captions, edit-video (tighten a recording), export, fine-tuning (zooms, effects, masks, transitions, beats), getting-started, motion-graphics, and story-edit. They are replaced on every link, so updating Agent28 updates them.
The bridge talks to Agent28 over a local port on 127.0.0.1 only (41733 when free), protected by a token that Agent28 keeps in its own data folder. Other machines on your network cannot reach it.
Turning it off
- Switch Allow AI apps to edit off. Agent28 removes the connector entries and the copied skills from every app it linked.
- The apps keep working normally; they just no longer see Agent28.
