After Effects isn't really a video editor, it's a compositor, and the most capable motion design environment ever shipped. Broadcast title sequences, film VFX, the entire template economy: it all runs on AE. Nothing we say below changes that.
But look at what creators actually open After Effects for: a text pop-in, an arrow tracking a button, an animated stat, a lower third. Ten seconds of screen time that costs a round-trip to a second application, a render queue, and, if you're honest, a weekend of tutorials the first time. AE's depth is priced into every small graphic you make.
The five-percent problem
Most creator motion graphics use a tiny, repetitive slice of AE: position/scale/opacity keyframes with easing, some masks, a glow. Agent28's bet is that this slice doesn't need a compositor, it needs a sentence. “Animated callout on the revenue number, brand colors, pop in on the beat” generates the graphic, styled from your screenshots and references, composited directly on your timeline as an editable layer.
